Its a day for Bernie to step up

I have already covered in previous months the one-eyed delusional Max Mosley a lot (Will Max Mosley lead to demise of F1?).

With FOTA announcing their plans for a breakway series it rests on the shoulder of Bernie Ecclestone to find a solution.  FOTA had a little dig on Bernie too in their statement (in bold below)

“(The) teams.. have no alternative other than to commence the preparation for a new Championship which reflects the values of its participants and partners, ” says the statement. “This series will have transparent governance, one set of regulations, encourage more entrants and listen to the wishes of the fans, including offering lower prices for spectators worldwide, partners and other important stakeholders. The major drivers, stars, brands, sponsors, promoters and companies historically associated with the highest level of motorsport will all feature in this new series.”

Jackie Stewart told BBC

“The teams have realised they can manage their own side of their business, thank you very much. Bernie Ecclestone must play a part in this. He has to influence Max Mosley on how he goes about his business. He’s perhaps been doing it with an imperial air for too long. Empires don’t last forever, just ask Julius Caesar. The teams, now, don’t have to do anything. They’ve made their decision. It’s up to the FIA now.”

For the purist it would be a huge loss if a breakaway series happen but if Mosley and Bernie doesn’t resolve the situation soon, most of the fans will have no problem to switch to FOTA championship.

Yes Mosley and Bernie, Empires don’t last forever!
