Brawn GP creates history by outpacing teams in Australia

buttonjensonFinally the season has started. It was so good to listen to the sounds of engines again. And what a sport! Established teams from last years struggling and the story of the event is Brawn GP.

The Honda team left in dead waters in December is resurrected only a couple of weeks ago as Brawn GP and now in the Australian GP qualifying have done a 1 2 outpacing all the teams in all the 3 qualifying sessions.

The diffusion row was not for nothing. The teams with double decker diffusers are certainly gaining a lot of time advantage relative to others.

Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello are 1 2 at Melbourne. Sebastian Vettel is 3 and the Red bull is looking very good. Robert Kubica had an amazing drive to 4 after his KERS powered team mate couldn’t make it into Q3.

Today’s result is the first time a new entrant has taken pole for its debut since factory Mercedes-Benz team in the 1954 French GP – Autosport

Ferrari are 7 and 9 on the grid, Mclaren 14 and 15 with Lewis Hamilton having gearbox trouble after he just sneaked into Q2.

The year has changed but at a restructured Force India nothing has changed. Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil were 18 and 19 respectively.
