Changes in 2009 – Aerodynamics

In a bid to reduce boring monotonous races FIA have introduced a host of changes in aerodynamics for 2009. The Formula One cars of 2009 will look considerably different to the 2008 version; smaller wings with no winglets or bodywork appendages and an altered rear diffuser.

Due to smaller rear wing the turbulence created by the car will be less in 2009 which means that there will be chances of more overtaking.  Also, the 2009 specification wings make it easier “to drive closer to the rear” of the cars in front.
